The Buuck Family Foundation provides need-based financial aid for students struggling with physical disabilities through the Buuck Family Scholarship. Spearheaded by Robert and Gail Buuck, this privately funded scholarship is one of the numerous scholarship opportunities offered to undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota.

The Buuck Family is recognized for its philanthropic service to the community, and its motto states: “Human potential is the only limitless resource we have in this world”. The Foundation established the Buuck Family Scholarship in recognition of the potential of disabled students and supports the notion that there is an ability in disability. The Buuck Family has a disabled son, John, who is confined to a wheelchair because of a neurological condition. This family circumstance inspired the family to dedicate their time and resources to helping disabled students in similar situations.

Since its inception in 2004, the Buuck Family scholarship has helped many disabled students have access to higher education. The goal of this scholarship is to provide educational equity for everyone including students struggling with disability.

Scholarship Amount

The Buuck Family gifts $5000 in scholarship awards to qualified students. It is renewable for over four years of undergraduate study and can cover educational expenditures like tuition and fees, books and supplies, and other related expenses.
