About the Uplift scholarship

The Uplift scholarship is a prestigious award created to provide financial assistance to Black students or students of color who are pursuing higher education. It is a non-renewable scholarship opportunity awarded on a merit basis.

Outstanding students considered for this scholarship award must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to their communities through their academic achievements, extracurricular participation, and community service.

In addition to the financial support, recipients are granted access to a network of professionals and mentors who can provide guidance and support throughout their academic and professional careers. Other benefits include a chance to attend NAACP events and conferences, where they can meet other scholars and professionals in their field of study, and there, find the opportunity to build connections and explore career options through networking.

Scholarship amount

The Uplift scholarship offers a one-time award of $10,000 to 30 qualified applicants. This brings the total award value to $30,000 annually.
