The Fellowship of Christian Athletes(FCA) is a global non-profit ministry that integrates Christianity and sports. It was established in 1954 by Don McClanen and operates in  Kansas City, Missouri with numerous staff offices situated domestically and internationally.

FCA brings together student-athletes and coaches from high schools and colleges across the United States and abroad. On and off the field, the fellowship’s chapters strive to promote four key values: integrity, service, teamwork, and excellence.

In addition to fostering fellowship, the organization offers its members the opportunity to apply for scholarships that are often available through their school chapters. 

Scholarships Offered By FCA 

FCA offers several scholarships, some of which are sponsored by partner organizations.

College Scholarships 

With FCA’s mission to spread Christianity through sports, its scholarships are designed to support high school seniors and college students who are growing in their Christian faith, have participated in FCA programs, and are committed to pursuing their education.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an FCA scholarship, applicants must meet certain criteria, including:

  1. Be a graduating high school senior or a college student.
  2. Have been involved in FCA activities for at least one year.
  3. Demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  4. Demonstrate financial need. 
  5. Be active in their local church. 

FCA College Scholarship Amount

The amount of FCA College scholarships varies depending on the individual’s circumstances and the availability of funds. FCA College scholarships can cover tuition, books, and fees for up to four years of undergraduate study.

To apply for an FCA College scholarship, students must complete an application form, provide transcripts and test scores, write an essay about their faith and commitment to FCA values, and submit letters of recommendation from coaches, teachers, and pastors. 

Richmont Graduate University and FCA Scholarship 

This FCA College Scholarship is currently open for applications. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must: 

  1. Be prospective students studying in Richmont’s School of Counseling.
  2. Be affiliated with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and provide documentation of leadership within FCA.

Camp Scholarships 

Since the FCA seeks to engage, equip, and empower athletes and coaches to make a positive impact on their communities and the world, it sponsors camps and other programs throughout the year. These include sports camps that are designed to teach athletic skills and help campers develop their faith.

FCA offers camp scholarships to help make their programs more accessible to a wider range of participants. These scholarships are typically awarded based on financial need, with priority given to students who would not be able to attend camp without financial assistance.

FCA Camp Scholarship Application

To apply for an FCA camp scholarship, you can visit the FCA website or contact your local FCA chapter. Typically, applicants will be asked to provide information about their financial situation, their athletic abilities, and their interest in attending an FCA camp.

What FCA Camp Scholarships Cover

If a scholarship is awarded, it will cover some or all of the cost of attending an FCA camp, including registration fees, lodging, and meals. Some scholarships may also include transportation or other expenses. 

FCA Pella Sports Camp Scholarship 

This Scholarship is available to FCA-affiliated students from 8th grade through graduated seniors. The camp is scheduled for July 10th-July 14th, 2023.

Fisher DeBerry Foundation Grant

Charles E. Holmes Endowment 

This endowment provides camp scholarships for coaches and athletes from South Carolina to attend FCA Leadership Camp, Coaches Camp, The Cove Coaches Marriage Retreat, and Coaches Time Out. The camps are meant to help coaches and athletes reach their potential both spiritually and physically.
